Biography
Born in 1978,A native of Kuttanad Veliyanad in Alappuzha district. He was born to KK Prakash and Vijayamma. Completed his education at Veliyanad LP School, Perunna NSS School and Changanassery NSS College. He has been active in art work since school and college level. He has been in theater for 24 years. Cochin Nayana's play Oramma Peta Makkal was her first role. Abhayan Kalavarur is Pramod's mentor in the field of drama. Starting with Cochin Nayana, he acted in theater troupes like Thiruvananthapuram Ananthapuri, Chirainkeesh Anugara, Rajan P Dev's Cherthala Jubilee, Changanassery Aniyara, Pala Communications, Thiruvananthapuram Souparnika, Thilakan's Samiti Ambalapuzha Aksharajwala and Kanjirapalli Amala. Pramod won the State Government Award for Best Comedian in 2007 for his performance in Aniyara's drama Rastriya Paatava. In 2009, Pramod got the state award again for Pala Communication's Kadulam Kanivenna drama. Pramod and his team are popular on the internet through the first web series in Kerala. The Navani series directed by Abhilash Sreedharan managed to grab a lot of attention. Then acted in about 45 short films. Acting in short films and web series paved the way for cinema. The short film Arpo has also won the National Award for Best Actor. Pramod's other mentor in drama, Francis T Mavelikkara, started with a small role in the movie Patchuvum Gopalanum, written and directed by Taha. He acted in about fifteen films with small roles. A notable role was available in Jose Thomas Swarnakaduava. Pramod's family consists of his mother, wife Prajita, a preschool teacher, and only son Pravi Karthik. Pramod's full name is Pramod Kumar KP, who wants to be known by the name of the place Veliyanad, Pramod popularly known as Pramod Veliyanad in the theater.
